Ian took pictures of our boys when they were young. He was amazing at connecting with our children and helping them be at ease as themselves so that he could capture them on his camera. We treasure the photos he took and I highly recommend him.

You helped take portraits for my family back when we were living in HK. We still have many of those photos up on our walls and they are amongst our most treasured memories from that time. Thank you.

Documentary-style family photographs with an emphasis on capturing the unique personalities of your kidlets.
“Kids Being Kids” has been my theme since Day One and it still holds true. Don’t direct them, don’t show up with a cookie-cutter box of shots; just let it all happen and the kids will always steer you to the greatest photos, not the other way around.

Documenting Families Worldwide Since
2005
I’ve been at this much longer than many family photographers. I started photographing my sibling’s kidlets in the late ‘90s. I thought most kids photography back then was too formulaic and all about the grown-ups.
I created a natural style that was more about capturing kids’ personalities. It’s all about letting them tell you what the shots are, not the other way around. That way you capture their true essence, and it’s frankly much more fun than telling everyone what to do.
Never Say Cheese: How to Take Great Photos of Your Kids (And Why You Should)
in 2021 I wrote the ultimate book to teach parents how to photograph their own kids. It’s A RIDICULOUSLY straightforward approach to becoming a photographer.
