Nieces & Nephews: How I Learned Family Photography

My First Decent Kids’ Photo, My Niece

I learned kids photography by documenting my sibling’s kidlets. As the eldest of six kids I know I was probably supposed to be the first to have kids, but that never happened. Instead I became a kids photographer. We were lucky to grow up in an 1872 Victorian house on the shore of Lake Ontario. The house you see below was the spot we all convened on holidays. It is now the office for a massive condo development that has taken over this part of Picton.

This is the reason I think every parent should be a photographer; to get real life, day to day images like these. This is where I gained the skills to becoming a professional kids portrait photographer in Hong Kong, Singapore and elsewhere.
