Hong Kong Pet Photography | Dogs, Cats & Their Humans

Candid, Natural Pet Photos Across Hong Kong — Because Pets Are Family Too

I don’t just do ‘normal’ Hong Kong family photography, whenever possible I love to include the family pets. Unlike many photographers who just specialize in ‘dog portraits’, I like to include humans in my photos as well. I don’t really see much of that in Hong Kong.

While Hong Kong isn’t the most dog friendly city in the world, there are lots of places to do these photoshoots. And this is a perfect opportunity for one of my Home Photography Studio Sessions, as pets (especially cats!) are much easier to photograph in their own domains.

My Favorite Dog-Friendly Locatins in Hong Kong

  • The Wan Chai Waterfront: Perfect for energetic dogs. Amazing new addition to Hong Kong Island.

  • Sheung Wan Backstreets: Ideal for a "city dog" vibe, think colorful murals and quiet alleys up the hill from Bridges St.

  • Cyberport Waterfront Park: The go-to for those iconic "dog running on grass" shots.

  • Sai Kung Waterfront: Huge number of dog-owners in this part of the New Territories.

  • Stanley: Stanley remains the perfect Southside location for pet photography.

Having spent years photographing rescues as a volunteer at Hong Kong Dog Rescue, HKSPCA and Catherine’s Puppies, I’ve learned how to work with every kind of dog personality, from the shyest rescue to the most hyper puppy.

I have also volunteered with the K9 USAR Thailand Canine Rescue Team, arguably the most well-known K9 Rescue Unit in Asia. They fly all over the globe to help during disasters.

And yes, I am happy to photograph your cat! (If it allows that sort of thing….)
